Yngwie Malmsteen

Swedish neoclassical metal virtuoso. Barry toured and recorded extensively with Yngwie Malmsteen, appearing on four world tours and nine albums.

Survivor

Chicago-born melodic rockers behind 'Eye of the Tiger' and 'The Search Is Over.' Barry held the bass slot in Survivor after being invited by the late Jimi Jamison.

NYC Studio Years

Saraya

New York-based melodic hard rock band fronted by Sandi Saraya. Barry recorded bass on the band's second album, When the Black Bird Sings, between tours with Yngwie Malmsteen.

Mid-1980s Solo Tours

Joe Lynn Turner

Rainbow and Deep Purple frontman turned solo artist. Barry held the bass slot behind Turner's Rescue You solo run in the mid-'80s, including the 1985 Boston show later released as Street of Dreams.

First Big Break

Pat Travers Band

Canadian blues-rock guitar hero of 'Boom Boom (Out Go the Lights)' fame. Barry's first major touring gig: joining Pat Travers in 1982 alongside Pat Marchino and Jerry Riggs.

Magic Cat

Atlanta-based rock band Barry played with during his years on the Southeast club and concert circuit.

Early 1980s

Riggs

Hard rock band led by guitarist Jerry Riggs out of the Atlanta scene. Barry played bass with Riggs before both he and Jerry moved on to the Pat Travers Band.
